Throughout the school-based day camps held from 1 to 19 June 2026, pupils from educational establishments in the Poltava City Territorial Community spent their summer holidays in a meaningful and engaging way at the city’s municipal museums.
Museum staff prepared a packed programme for the young visitors, which included themed tours, creative workshops, interactive sessions and educational treasure hunts. Thanks to this, the schoolchildren had the opportunity not only to deepen their knowledge of the history and culture of their native region, but also to become actively involved in museum life, developing their curiosity, creative thinking and communication skills.
Over the course of three weeks, the museums within the core network of cultural institutions of the Poltava City Territorial Community — Poltava Battlefield State Historical and Cultural Reserve, Art museum (art gallery) named after M. Yaroshenko, Ivan Kotliarevskyi Literary Memorial Museum, Volodymyr Korolenko Literary-memorial museum, Panas Myrnyi Literary Memorial Museum — were visited by nearly 1,800 pupils from over 40 educational institutions within the community.
Exploring the museum exhibitions and taking part in themed events provided the children not only with an interesting cultural and educational experience, but will also leave them with vivid impressions and fond memories.
