As part of the events celebrating the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, the presentation of the information prospectus "History of one monument: to the 120th anniversary of the opening of the monument to I. Kotliarevskyi in Poltava" took place in the Poltava Literary and Memorial Museum of I. Kotliarevskyi. The publication contains the origins of the idea of building a monument to the outstanding Poltava citizen, the first classic of Ukrainian literature, the history of the construction and opening of the monument itself, enhanced by rich illustrative material.
The Prospectus is the first informational and educational publication of the "Unique Sights of Poltava" series, issued by the Department of Culture, Youth and Family of the Poltava City Council in accordance with the obligations of the City Program for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and Preservation of the Historical Environment of the Poltava City Territorial Community.
The author and compiler of the text of the prospectus, V. Pavlov, is an honorary worker of tourism of Ukraine, a member of the Poltava regional organization of the Union of Local Experts of Ukraine, head of the department of tourism and cultural heritage of the DKMtaS of the PMR. The prospectus, designed for a wide range of readers, is distributed free of charge, primarily among library institutions-branches of the City Centralized Library System, the regional universal scientific library named after I. Kotliarevskyi, the regional library for youth named after Oles Honchar, etc.
