The digitization of museum objects is now extremely relevant and important in the matter of preservation and popularization of the national cultural heritage. Digitization of museum objects, that is, the transformation of information into digital (electronic) form, primarily concerns objects of the main fund, that is, those belonging to the State part of the Museum Fund of Ukraine. This line of work, started in April of the current year, is currently at the "equator" of the process of transforming the information of the unique library fund of the three literary and memorial museums of Poltava and the historical and cultural reserve "Field of Poltava Battle".
With the help of a special high-precision scanner "Metis EDS Gamma" of the Poltava Regional Universal Scientific Library named after I.P. Kotliarevskyi is compiling an electronic depository of rare author's works by Ivan Kotliarevskyi, Panas Rudchenko (Myrnyi) and Volodymyr Korolenko, most of which are posthumous.
Today, the first domestic socio-psychological novel by Panas Myrnyi and Ivan Bilyk, "Do the oxen roar like the manger is full?", published in Geneva (Switzerland) in 1880 at the expense of Mykhailo Drahomanov, is being transformed into an electronic form. The first edition of the Rudchenko brothers, as a result of the Emsk decree of Olexander II in 1876, was included by the royal censorship in a special catalog of publications prohibited for printing and distribution in the Russian Empire. Only in 1903, under the changed name - "Lost Power", the novel was first published in the journal "Kyivska Starovyna".
Two lifetime editions of I. Kotliarevskyi's poem "Aeneid" from 1798 and 1809 have been previously digitized. The first edition of the "Aeneid" was published in a "piracy" way without the author's knowledge and consent, at the expense of the Konotop landowner, the learned doctor Maxim Parpura. The publication of I. Kotliarevskyi's "Aeneid" at the end of the 18th century became a starting point in the birth and history of modern Ukrainian literature, the 225th anniversary of which is being celebrated at the state level this year (Decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated 17.12.2021 No. 1982-IX "On Commemorating of special dates and anniversaries in 2022-2023").
